아리조나의 한 한인골퍼가 노익장을 과시하며 골프 홀인원을 기록했다.

화제의 주인공은 올해 82세의 김창정 씨.

김창정 씨는 지난 일요일이던 6월 20일 지인 3명과 함께 조를 짜 아리조나 그랜드 리조트 골프장에서 플레이하던 중 골퍼들이 평생 한 번 하기 힘들다는 홀인원을 기록했다.

홀인원이 나온 코스는 147야드 파3의 14번 홀.

같이 골프를 친 지인에 따르면 김창정 씨가 홀인원을 할 때 우연히 골프장 마샬이 그 자리에 있었고 공이 한 번에 홀 속으로 빨려 들어가자 주변에 있던 사람들과 함께 마샬도 크게 축하를 해준 것으로 알려졌다.

골프장 측에선 홀인원 플레이어에게 어떤 선물을 주는지는 밝히지 않았지만 김창정 씨의 이름과 주소 등을 받아간 것으로 전해졌다.

특히 이날은 20여년 구력 중 첫 홀인원을 기록한 데다 파더스 데이 그리고 결혼 40주년 날까지 겹쳐 김창정 씨에게는 잊을 수 없는 추억으로 남게 됐다.

피닉스에 오래 거주한 김창정 씨는 일요일마다 늘 멤버들끼리 골프를 즐겨왔다.

아리조나 태권도 스쿨과 In & Out Tag/Title Service를 운영하고 있는 김 현 씨의 부친인 김창정 씨는 미국으로 건너오기 전 젊은 시절 태권도를 했었고 도미 후 비즈니스를 하는 와중에도,  그리고 은퇴 후에도 꾸준히 운동을 하며 체력을 다져왔다.

단단히 다져진 체력이 노익장 투혼으로 이어진 셈이다.

아들 김 현 씨는 "어머니와 함께 아들 넷을 위해 늘 열심히 사셨던 아버지"라며 "홀인원 소식에 주위 많은 분들이 함께 축하해 주셨다"고 전했다.

A Korean golfer in Arizona showed off his old age and recorded a golf hole-in-one.

The main character is 82-year-old Kim Chang-jung.

Kim Chang-jung teamed up with three acquaintances on June 20 to record a hole-in-one that golfers can't play once in their lives while playing at the Arizona Grand Resort golf course.

The hole-in-one course is 147 yards par-3 14th hole.

According to an acquaintance who played golf with him, when Kim Chang-jung played a hole-in-one, Marshall was there by chance and when the ball was sucked into the hole at once, Marshall and others around him congratulated him greatly.

The golf course did not say what kind of gift it would give to a hole-in-one player, but it was reported that it received Kim Chang-jung's name and address.

In particular, this day was the first hole-in-one of his 20 years of experience, and it overlapped with Father's Day and the 40th anniversary of his marriage, making it an unforgettable memory for Kim Chang-jung.

Kim Chang-jung, a long-time Phoenix resident, has always played golf with the members on Sundays.

Kim Chang-jung, the father of Kim Hyun, who runs the Arizona Taekwondo School and In & Out Tag/Title Service, did taekwondo as a young man before moving to the U.S. and has been steadily exercising while doing business after dominoes and even after retirement.

In other words, his solid stamina has led to his aging struggle.

"He was a father who always lived hard for his four sons with his mother," his son Kim Hyun said. "Many people around him congratulated him on the news of the hole-in-one."
