아리조나주 한인회(배수형 회장)과 한인간호사협회(이향숙 회장)이 공동주최한 '아리조나 한인들을 위한 건강 세미나'가 6월 26일(토) 오전 10시부터 2시간 동안 아리조나 간호사 협회 사무실에서 열렸다.

이날 행사는 Keogh Health Connection의 지원/등록팀 수퍼바이저인 Livbier Pearson 씨를 강사로 초청한 가운데 오프라인과 함께 줌을 통한 온라인으로 동시에 진행됐다. 

이향숙 간호사협회 회장이 동시통역을 맡았다.

세미나에서는 메디케이드, 푸드스탬프, 캐시 어시스턴스, 어린이 건강보험, 개인보험 등 다양한 카테고리의 내용들이 다뤄졌다.

Keogh Health Connection은 저소득층이나 도움이 필요한 가정을 위해 정부가 제공하는 다양한 혜택의 정보 소스를 찾고 등록을 도와주는 매개 역할을 한다.

www.coveraz.org/connector 또는 전화 602-266-0397로 예약을 한 뒤 1시간 가량의 상담을 통해 어떤 도움이 필요한 지 분류작업을 거치게 되고 자격요건이 부합한다고 판정되면 이후 '네비게이터'라고 불리는 담당상담사가 보다 자세한 도움을 준다. 

한국어 통역도 지원이 된다.

이외에도 시민권 신청, 고등학교 졸업시험(GED), 영어 클래스(ESL) 등과 관련한 정보 역시 Keogh Health Connection을 통해 받을 수 있다.

강의가 끝난 뒤 20분 가량 질의응답 시간이 이어졌다.  

 

 

 

"Health Seminar" co-hosted by the Korean Association and the Korean-American Association

 

 

The Health Seminar for Korean Residents in Arizona, co-hosted by the Korean Association of Arizona (Chairman Bae Soo-hyung) and the Korean Human Rights Association (Chairman Lee Hyang-sook), was held at the Arizona Nurses Association office for two hours from 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26 (Saturday.

The event was held simultaneously online via zoom offline, with Livbier Pearson, the supervisor of the support/registration team at Keogh Health Connection, invited as a lecturer.  

Lee Hyang-sook, chairman of the Nurses Association, was in charge of simultaneous interpretation.

The seminar covered a variety of categories, including Medicaid, food stamps, cache assistance, child health insurance and personal insurance.

Keogh Health Connection serves as a medium for finding and registering information sources of various benefits provided by the government for low-income families or families in need.

After making a reservation at www.coveraz.org/connector or by phone 602-266-0397, an hour's consultation will be conducted to sort out what help you need, and a counselor in charge, called a Navigator, will then provide more detailed assistance if the qualifications are determined to be met.  

Korean translation is also supported.

In addition, information regarding citizenship applications, high school graduation exams (GEDs), and English classes (ESLs) can also be received through Keogh Health Connection.

After the lecture, a question-and-answer session lasted about 20 minutes.
