LPGA 투어 드라이브온 챔피언십(총상금 175만 달러)이 23일부터 나흘간 아리조나주 골드캐년의 슈퍼스티션 마운틴 골프 앤드 컨트리클럽(파72·6천526야드)에서 열린다.
이 대회는 올해 LPGA 투어에서 처음으로 열리는 풀 필드(출전 선수 144명) 대회다.
이 대회 전에 개최된 올해 3개 대회는 모두 출전 선수 수가 제한돼 있었다.
지난해 12월 LPGA 퀄리파잉 시리즈를 1위로 통과한 신인 유해란은 이번 대회로 투어 데뷔전을 치른다.
KLPGA 투어 통산 5승이 있는 유해란은 올해 LPGA 투어 강력한 신인왕 후보로 꼽힌다.
작년 퀄리파잉 시리즈 9위에 오른 박금강도 이번 대회를 통해 LPGA 투어 신인 데뷔전을 치른다.
국가대표 상비군을 지낸 박금강은 지난해 LPGA 2부 투어에서 2승을 거뒀다.
이달 초 HSBC 월드 챔피언십 정상에 오른 고진영은 2개 대회 연속 우승에 도전한다.
투어 14승을 거둔 고진영이 한 번 더 우승하면 15승 고지에 오른다.
이외에도 김세영, 박성현, 이정은, 전인지, 최혜진 등 다수의 한국선수들이 출전한다.

The LPGA Tour Drive-On Championship ($1.75 million purse) will be held at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club (par 72, 6,526 yards) in Gold Canyon, Arizona, beginning Sept. 23.
It will be the first full field (144 players) on the LPGA Tour this year.
The previous three tournaments this year were all limited field events.
Rookie Hae-Ran Lee, who finished first in the LPGA Qualifying Series last December, will make her tour debut at the event.
With five career wins on the KLPGA Tour, Hae-ran is one of the strongest rookie candidates on the LPGA Tour this year.
Park Geum Kang, who finished ninth in last year's Qualifying Series, will also make her LPGA Tour rookie debut at this event.
A former South Korean national team member, Park won two events on the LPGA's secondary tour last year.
Jin Young Ko will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at the HSBC World Championship earlier this month.
With 14 wins on the tour, Ko needs one more victory to reach the 15-win plateau.
Other Korean players in the field include Kim Se-young, Park Sung-hyun, Lee Jeong-eun, Jeon In-ji, and Choi Hye-jin.
