차기 평통위원을 선정하는 절차가 시작됐다.
민주평화통일자문회의 사무처가 제20기 해외 자문위원 후보자 신청을 받는다고 밝혔다.
LA 총영사관은 24일 민주평통 사무처의 요청에 따라 이날부터 오는 6월14일까지 공관 관할지역 해외자문 위원 후보자 신청을 받는다고 밝혔다.
20기에 아리조나주 해외 자문위원이 소속되는 오렌지·샌디에고(OC·SD) 협의회는 104명을 선임한다.
20기 해외 자문위원은 오는 9월1일부터 2023년 8월 말까지 평통 자문위원으로 활동하게 된다.
만 18세 이상으로 협의회 관할 지역에 거주하고 한인이면 신청할 수 있다. 미국 시민권자도 신청 대상에 포함된다.
신청 서류는 오는 6월15일 오후 5시까지 LA총영사관 1층 민원실에 제출할 수 있다. 우편접수시에서는 이날 오후 5시까지 도착할 수 있도록 등기우편으로 제출하면 된다.
총영사관 주소 3243 Wilshire Blvd #404, Los Angeles, CA 90010으로 보내면 되고 우편에는 '민주평통 해외자문위원 신청서류'라는 걸 명기해야 한다.
서류는 본인이 직접 제출서류를 작성해야 하며, 해외 자문위원 후보자 카드 및 활동 동의서, 신원진술서(한글 혹은 영문), 여권사본, 해외범죄기록증명원 등을 제출해야 한다.
평통 사무처는 접수된 신청서류를 심사해 6월18일까지 최종 후보자를 선정하며 신원조사를 거쳐 오는 7월16일 이전에 후보자를 확정, 자문위원을 위촉하게 된다.
또 관할지역 총영사관을 거치지 않는 재외동포 참여공모제를 통해서도 신청할 수 있다.
이 경우에는 오는 5월 31일부터 6월 18일까지 민주평통 사무처에 우편 또는 이메일로 신청서를 제출할 수 있다.

한편 민주평통 아리조나 분회에서는 지난 5월 22일 오후 6시 새로 오픈한 CRAZY TUNA SUSHI에서 정기모임을 갖고 제 20기에 자문위원 후보자 추천 안내에 대해서 서덕자 회장이 보고를 했다.

The secretariat of the Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification said it will accept applications for the 20th foreign advisory committee.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles announced on the 24th that it will receive applications for candidates for overseas advisory committee in the jurisdiction of diplomatic missions from the same day to June 14 at the request of the Secretariat of the Democratic and Peaceful Unification.
In the 20th term, the Orange and San Diego (OC) Council, which includes Arizona's foreign advisors, will appoint 104 people.
The 20th foreign advisor will serve as a member of Pyeongtong Advisory Committee from September 1 to the end of August 2023.
If you are 18 years old or older and live in the jurisdiction of the council, you can apply. U.S. citizens are also included in the application.
Applications can be submitted to the Civil Service Office on the first floor of the Los Angeles Consulate General by 5 p.m. on June 15. When receiving mail, you can submit it by registered mail so that it can arrive by 5 p.m. on the same day.
Address 3243 Wilshire Blvd #404, Los Angeles, CA 90010, and the mail should state that it is an application form for an overseas advisory member of the Democratic Peace Committee.
Documents must be submitted by themselves, and documents must be submitted such as the card of candidates for overseas advisors, consent form for activities, identity statement (Korean or English), passport copy, and proof of overseas crime records.
The Pyongtong office will review the application documents received and select the final candidate by June 18, and will confirm the candidate before July 16 and appoint an advisor.
They can also apply through a public offering system for overseas Koreans who do not go through the consulate general in their jurisdiction.
In this case, applications can be submitted by mail or e-mail to the Office of Democratic and Peaceful Affairs from May 31 to June 18.
